I'll be honest I watched it and it was okay. The kid was cute but didn't make me go "I would die for you" though I might not have been in the mood for it either, so I could end up liking it more down the road. It was on the boring side if anything, but I'm hoping it'll pick up a little as it goes on. I am intrigued by the summary's hints of drama in their past.
It's incredibly safe for what's going to be many watchers' first encounter with omegaverse and it's kind of interesting how many people can't even handle that. I'm not talking about people who naturally weren't going to vibe with the concept. Hell, me and my sisters all agree that when we first encountered omegaverse we went "bwuh" but I love it and my younger sister does too. Middle One is more "it depends."
But god, some of the reactions are intense, including the usual delusional homophobic ones. Even something this mild when it comes to both omegaverse and bl is too much for some people's minds.
I do think it probably should have had more of an explanation at the beginning about what alpha and omega are, because that is quite a mind-blow to some people. Sure they reveal it a bit later, but I think some people should have had a little more forewarning.
I also found it interesting to see people complaining about the idea of alpha/omega pairs experiencing prejudice to be nonsensical. It's actually not that rare in a lot of bl manga to have it be the case that alphas marry alphas since they are the elite class and omegas are seen as trash. There's a lot of variety in how the concept is approached.
I'm hoping that maybe in the future we'll get some of the more exciting omegaverse originals adapted to anime, but this isn't a bad introduction either, especially when it's sweet and seems to be pleasing the crowd that likes anime babies and the whole slice of life family genre of anime.
Honestly, I don't have anything coherent to say, other than this was inspired by reviews I saw on Crunchyroll.
