I'm tired from work and not being able to sleep yesterday, so I don't know what my motivation is going to be for my days off.

In the trying new things category, I got one of those Woobles kits. Pierre looks cute, but I gave up for the day after having to undo my work right away because holding that crochet needle is hard. The hand positioning sucks. I'm going to plan on getting the little penguin done, though I suspect I'm going to conclude crochet isn't for me (so much respect to people who make big projects- Grandmas work super hard!)

Trying to do bread at home regularly because I might as well since we have the kitchen aid. It's been a while since I've been in the habit. The problem with bread is you need to plan things out timing wise though. Still this recipe was fantastic.

Also, twst has so many amazing things happening right now in JPN and EN. I need to catch up. Even though the current event feels very slow.

In podcasts, I'm trying out Weeping Cedars. I'm on the 2nd season, and I like how even the lighthearted show is still sinister (those kids are definitely not keeping on keeping on in the woods Eli.)

Been forgetting this lately in part because I'm actually having a lot of fun on Bluesky. It's everything twitter never was for me.

It's cold and snowing out right now and I've been listening to a few different podcasts here and there. Deca Tapes was incredible. I enjoyed The Corveil Cases well enough. I'm also glad to see The White Vault: Goshawk back. All my other old standbys are really good too. Bitcherton is really promising.

Still slowly reading books here and there. On the third book of Case File Compendium and wow this is painful in a good way.

I'm trying to get structured with my writing again, with a weekly goal of sorts that should hopefully be a little more flexible and will include editing and posting as well.

Bounced off a couple of shows (through no fault of their own, but my brain wasn't having it.) Trying Return Home right now and seeing where it goes. It does get a chuckle out of me here and there, so that's promising.

The Magnus Protocol has had some good episodes lately. The horrifying pregnancy one and the gross food one this week were fantastic. Still not feeling the office drama part of it, but it's nice enough to listen to.

Malovelent: I'll admit I'm just along to see it through at this point though I like how bizarre it is right now.

Dungeons and Daddies: Wtf Francis. Which means wtf Anthony. I'm interested to see what comes of this.

In games news, I still play too many. Slowly chugging through Dawntrail and Honkai Star Rail. Harvestella's story is really ramping up. Also trying another Sims legacy challenge. Maybe I'll make it this time.

Books-wise, I'm on the last third of The Bone Doll's Twin and I need Tobin to get a break. At least Ki is there. There's a lot I could talk about since I think it's one of the most interesting fantasy books I've read in a while. I've seen it around for years and been curious about the premise but never took the plunge. I both regret not reading it sooner, but I'm also glad for it, because I probably wouldn't have appreciated it as much.

I finished two podcasts and started another one. Shorter podcasts are nice sometimes.

John From Back Home is an interesting one. The setup of this guy leaving voicemails to a childhood friend he has become obsessed with was interesting. John himself is insufferable, yet sympathetic, yet also not at the same time, which I think is an interesting balance even if it makes listening to him a frustrating experience. It takes about four episodes for him to make it to the spooky house, but once he gets there, things get pretty neat. The turn to straight up horror to fantasy horror(?) is very strange and I can see how it threw things for some people. I was a bit thrown. Though I think the themes of envy and being punished were strong ones. I'm not sure how I felt about it overall, but would still recommend it to others.

In Another Room was really good. Like I'll always question why anyone would think it's a good idea to stay in a famous murder house, but I like the fear and tension. It's also really touching in places and I like the theme of grief, as well as the idea that it's never too late to change your life. I will definitely listen try out more of Violet Hours podcasts.

Light House is one I started yesterday. Only on the first episode still, I believe, but I'm fascinated. It's tense and I'm not sure where its' going yet.

Honestly, I haven't been reading a lot of fic lately, so the fanfic rec thing fell on the wayside, but I'll have to get back on it. Fandom isn't feeding me like I'd like, but I'd like to do my part.

Been watching Young Royals while I do stretches. It's a slow process since you know I only stretch so long after a workout or on my days off, but I'm making progress. Everyone is so messy in this show! I'm having fun though. I love everyone but unexpectedly August is my boy, utter mess and dick that he is. He's just also a really stupid woobie. There's a lot of woobies in this though.

Gaming-wise, the big ones are Honkai Star Rail and Harvestella. and with the latter, I get why some people didn't like it, but I'm also surprised because I'm having a lot of fun. The flow of the game is great and I'm enjoying the story.

Podcast-wise, I've started This House Will Devour You and I can't recommend it enough. Spooky gothic horror in the form of letters being exchanged between a couple in 1920's Ireland and England? Oh hell yes. The horror is slowly building and getting more nerve-wracking. I also like that Elizabeth and Jon genuinely care about each other, making the listener more invested in the goings on.

As for books, I already talked about it on [community profile] booknook, but I'm still chugging through Lirael. I'm past Sameth's first pov which was pretty harrowing. I'm wishing I read these books years ago, because the story is very solid. I'm somehow not super spoiled for them, which is making everything a surprise.

Manga, manwha and general comics are too numerous to mention and probably worth another post, but knowing Netkama Punch is ending soon is making a me a little down, though I've loved the progress the last few chapters.

Finished this tonight and I really enjoyed it! I guessed the twist/killer reveal about part way through, but it still felt rewarding when it was revealed. The reveal also recontextualized some earlier parts of the interview in interesting ways, especially in terms of personal interactions. The humor was good and I laughed at a few different points.

It felt like I was listening to a movie or show at points. Over all a well done and enjoyable show, also one that isn't too long.

I kind of lost track for a bit here, but now that I decided to slow down on dwrp for the moment and not be in games I want to put more into my writing and journaling. I also logged out of twitter and haven't been on for a few days and it's done wonders.

But in podcast news since I got caught up, some new things.

The Magnus Protocal is admittedly not entirely new, but new to me! This part of it. I'm not as into the office drama part of it, but the statements/recordings/stories are still great and a bit dread inducing. I also enjoy the one's that deal with things on the internet like forum and blog posts.

Jackie the Ripper has been very entertaining. Once in a while there's a little thing I don't like, but I'm enjoying the crime thriller aspect of it and the bits of humor. I have a tiny guess at Jackie's identity, but not a hundred percent. I'm glad I tried it out though.

Dungeons and Daddies season 3 also not new, but technically it's dealing with new characters and I'm enjoying seeing what they get up in this setting with this system. I liked what I heard of Mountains of Dadness so I think I'll be in for a treat. This time they have a very interesting range of character types and a real chance of people dying, so I wonder how they'll handle it if it happens.

I have a list of more podcasts I want to try that I put on google Keep. Mostly horror, so I'll need to add some more comedy, adventure, and romance to it since I can only take so much horror before my mind begins to wig out.
