In your own space, talk about a fannish opinion you hold that has changed over time

This is a bit of a hard one because I can't think of too many that are fundamentally big, other than trying to be a bit less judgemental on people for things and a little more considerate when I complain about things I don't like in public—a sort of how I'd like others to be treated.

I guess a big one that relates a little more to dwrp and might be a little wanky to some is I realized it is okay to be m/m only for shipping. I've enjoyed some of the female characters I've played with, but overall, I found myself getting anxious about it and realized it's okay to be exclusionary about your tastes on that front. Same with writing. I don't worry as much about what the gender configuration of my ships says about me anymore.

Snowflake Challenge 2025, Challenge 4

Since this is the start of a new year, this challenge will be e to set your own goals!

I did this fandom wise here! But I have a wip I'm hoping to finish or make a lot of progress on, plus some challenges.

I also have a video game backlog to get through and I'm trying to not buy anymore games until I progress.

I also want to be lifting at least 25 lbs with relative ease for my strength training workouts and hope to explore some new hobbies.

Talk about what has improved in your life thanks to fandom.

I'll be honest, in some ways I worry that fandom has been a drag on me, thanks to my obsessing with it a little too much at the expense of other things.

But as someone who is really shy and never got out much of my family home as a child or a young adult and still keeps to herself, fandom has allowed me to form a lot of meaningful connections.

And like a lot of people, I've encountered so many different viewpoints and people from different backgrounds. I've learned a lot that I would never have learned if I didn't come into fandom.
