Book of Heartslabyul thoughts

After a long wait, I finished the last two volumes and overall I enjoyed it. But some thoughts negative and positive under the cut:
-I loved getting to see the overblot fight portrayed on the page. Seeing the violence of what's happening is nice, and I can't wait for this to be animated.
-Little Trey, Chenya, and Riddle are so squishy.
-I like seeing the details that go into certain backgrounds. It makes everything feel more alive.
-The part in Riddle's overblot dream where he's surrounded by an ever-growing mountain of books is incredible.
-On a bit of a negative side, Yuuken ending the ob!battle with his bokken was super, super silly. Like I think it'd land better in another series, and I'm not against Yus getting to help out, but not having any magic is a big, big deal for the mc.
We're supposed to be completely out of our element. We're just some guy/gal and we're in a world with magic. Not only that, but we're not even among normal magic users, but the crème de la crème. These people could melt our faces off.
So it feels silly that Riddle, one of the most talented mages in canon gets taken down like that? Especially when it's established later that OB is the most powerful form for him (and everyone else.)
It's also silly because the only person who seemed to really be able to make any headway against him was Trey. Riddle curbstomped everyone who tried against him otherwise.
And if it is just a matter of physique, why couldn't someone like Deuce take him on? Deuce who can win physical fights despite being outnumbered? Or Ace who is quick on his feet? Or Cater who is also clever.
And I could go on...
It's not the worst thing, but it's just... silly. I can guess a few reasons why they wanted to do it, but it lessens the impact of what's going on a little.
Taht said, I had a good time otherwise and I'll start the next book tonight.
