Talk about what has improved in your life thanks to fandom.

I'll be honest, in some ways I worry that fandom has been a drag on me, thanks to my obsessing with it a little too much at the expense of other things.

But as someone who is really shy and never got out much of my family home as a child or a young adult and still keeps to herself, fandom has allowed me to form a lot of meaningful connections.

And like a lot of people, I've encountered so many different viewpoints and people from different backgrounds. I've learned a lot that I would never have learned if I didn't come into fandom.

The connections that we can make through fandom are often long-lasting, or what we need, or just a lot of fun being around other people who are similarly inclined.
